From 2005 to 2007 I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a small island nation in the Eastern Caribbean. While working in South Rivers, a remote banana farming village, I spent a lot of time befriending the people, earning their trust and respect and taking part in local customs. During my two years of service I photographed the people extensively, focusing on the uniqueness of the culture and the key issues slowing its development. This series, a small piece of a much larger project, deals with alcoholism, a term yet to be recognized in Saint Vincent.
